If I ask you, “Are you using your voice?” your response would probably be yes, right? What about, “Are you staying true to your inner voice?” Take a second to think about what it means to use your inner voice and stay true to your own thoughts and needs.
It’s very important to your personal growth to make sure you trust yourself and really align with your inner self. This means taking time to understand what is right and wrong for you and what you feel comfortable with, then expressing that and standing up for your needs.
This is a lot like being able to set healthy boundaries. Many of us feel like we should put the needs of others before our own and always try to please others. In some situations, this is okay, but we need to also be sure to honour our own needs. How else will we be happy?
If you aren’t used to standing up for what you want and need, taking the first steps can be uncomfortable. Don’t let that get you down. Just like any new habit, respecting yourself first may take time and practice, but it is so worth it to learn to love yourself and know your worth.
If it seems difficult and makes you uneasy to have confidence and express your inner voice, take a bit of time to remind yourself of what you have to gain. Think about the confidence you can build by being true to yourself. Taking care to use your voice inspires a beautiful, comforting flow in your life, and it will heighten the positive energy in your natural vibrations.
Imagine how bright and strong your inner light will shine when you are true to what you want and need. And you know I’m not talking about new shoes or haircuts here. When you take time to think about it, what do you really want deep inside? Turn down that little girl/boy voice and ask your inner voice what it truly wants to be happy.
Once you know this, you know the wants of your true self, and you can take care to express these wants to others as the situation arises, no matter how uncomfortable it may be at first. Over time, discomfort will fade, and using your voice will pay off in ways you never imagined.
You can sit back and watch as your confidence grows, the light inside you shines, and you finally see what it means to have self-love and self-worth.
Spend a few minutes alone, thinking about who you truly are. It may help to write a few of these thoughts down, so that you can come back to visit them any time you become uncomfortable. Just remember, any uncomfortable feelings you have will pass, and soon you’ll see the beautiful perks to using your voice to represent your true self.
I would love to hear from you in the comments below, do you feel you’re on track with staying true to your inner voice? Are there ever times when you feel you’d like to step it up a notch?
Remember you are beautiful and you are always loved.
P.S. When was the last time you felt 100% in control of your life and your future? Do you think that’s even possible? Well, good news: IT IS.
