I wrote an article over a year ago about, ‘Why I Do What I Do’. Sharing with you my ‘WHY’.
My WHY; a strong burning desire to change and transform lives world wide. By inspiring and influencing you to find the deepest and most pure part of yourself, your intuition. Sharing the wisdom I have gained, raising your conscious awareness of your potential and abilities inside yourself. Guiding you in a safe and comfortable environment to release suppressed emotion that is blocking you from moving forward and from living in a healthy body.
I struggled for most of my life to love myself, really to even know myself. The lack of confidence, self love and self respect debilitated me, for far too long. I know how painful this place can be, I understand it and I have lived it. This past pain is my burning desire to inspire and change lives worldwide. I want you to step out of this pain, release it, so you can start living your true potential. My purpose is to guide you to the place of knowing your worth, that you are enough and anything is possible.
As I was reflecting on this week’s blog post I was guided to share an exercise with you, something that will inspire you to dig deep within yourself to gain clarity around ‘why‘ you do what you do. Many people aren’t clear on ‘WHY’ they do what they do, they are living each day ‘doing’, not understanding and feeling deep within themselves ‘WHY’ they do what they do.
Before I ask you some questions below, grab your journal and write ‘WHY’ you feel you do what you do. Allow your pen to flow, allow your intuitive guidance to share with you your ‘WHY’.
A great book around defining your ‘WHY’, Start With Why’ by Simon Sinek.
A passage from Simon’s book, that shares an important message around how very few people know their ‘WHY’:
WHAT: Every person and every single company and organisation on the planet knows WHAT they do. This is true no matter how big or small, no matter what industry. Everyone is easily able to describe the products or services a company sells or the job function they have within that system. WHAT’S are easy to identify.
WHY: Very few people or companies can clearly articulate WHY they do WHAT they do. When I say WHY, I don’t mean to make money – that’s a result. By WHY I mean what is your purpose, cause or belief? WHY does your company exist? WHY do you get out of bed every morning? And WHY should anyone care?
Time to bring your pen and paper out, to answer some powerful questions. It’s time to gain clarity around ‘WHY’ you do what you do:
1. WHY do you do what you do?
2. What is your purpose, cause, belief?
3. WHY do you get out of bed each morning?
Take some time out to relax the body, slow the mind down and tune in to receive intuitive guidance as your answering these questions.
4. What do I do?
5. How do I do it?
6. WHY do I do it?
In our personal life, in business and career it doesn’t matter what you do, it matters why you do it. Once you figure out ‘WHY’ you do what you do, you will feel connected to yourself, your career and your business. In saying that it’s very important to remember, WHAT we are doing and ‘WHY’ we are doing it, must always be aligned.
I would love to hear ‘WHY’ you do what you do, I look forward to you sharing in the comments below.
Much love and gratitude,
