Do you feel relaxed and well rested? Think about this question and answer it honestly. Maybe it’s time for you to take a break, a vacation? Take some time out, to just be!
Thank you for your patience whilst I have been missing in action for the past 8-9 days. I felt it was time to listen to my body and take some time out, to be in silence and connect to my inner soul for a week. I am feeling relaxed with so much clarity, after a beautiful week away.
I was blessed to be able to attend ‘Optimum Health Institute’ in the US, let’s call it OHI for short. OHI is a body, mind and spirit program, in San Diego, California. BODY stands for – Cleansing your body, MIND – Quieting your mind, SPIRIT – Renewing your spirit. I have been very fortunate to attend this program twice before, this visit made it my 3rd time. I stayed 6 nights, I cleansed and detoxed with raw food, consumed organic fruit and vegetable juices, juiced my own fresh organic wheat grass daily, had colonics, spa treatments and listened to very informative classes based around body, mind and spirit, so the overall picture of wellness (yes I was in heaven).
I arrived late Sunday afternoon, and was greeted with a raw meal for dinner, which was light but very tasty. The idea is to gradually minimise the amount of food your consuming. We eat 3 very light raw meals on the Monday and began juice fasting on the Tuesday morning through too Thursday evening. Then slowing introduced raw food back into our diets from Thursday evening, through too Sunday lunch. The institute consists of a 3 week schedule, you can choose to attend 1, 2 or 3 weeks.
Through out the week during the cleanse there are great classes, teaching you about juicing, mind body connection, relaxation/pain control, elimination, alpha techniques, emotional detoxification, conscious breath and many more wonderful classes. This is a great distraction through out your juice fast, as well as a fantastic learning experience on many levels of the, body, mind and spirit.

At the start of each year I make the commitment to myself, that I will take 2 weeks off every 6 months, to have complete time out! It’s a must for me, non-negotiable! I am a firm believer that our bodies and soul’s need to have down time, to switch off from everyday life. This doesn’t mean you have to go on a vacation or holiday somewhere and spend money, it’s meaning taking time off from work to refresh your soul. It is so easy to get caught up in work, chasing the dollar, wishing things were different, dreaming about next year, in stead of living in the present. A lot of people get caught in the rat race because they are subconsciously afraid of sitting still and in fear of what they are going to miss out on, from not being at work for that 2 weeks.
I really hope that each and everyone of you after reading this article, starts to think differently about taking time out for your self.. Don’t wait for tomorrow, tomorrow is too late, live for now!
